Content Repurposing: One Idea, Five Platforms (My Exact System)

Content Repurposing: One Idea, Five Platforms

I don’t create content five times. I create it once and reshape it five ways. This is how I maintain a YouTube channel, a Bangla blog, an English site, email, and social media — while working a full-time job.

Most creators burn out because they treat each platform as a separate job. YouTube needs videos. Blog needs articles. Facebook needs posts. Email needs newsletters. That’s four jobs, and you already have one.

The solution: one idea, five formats. Here’s my exact system.

The Core Principle

Every piece of content starts as one core idea — a single insight, framework, or lesson. Then I adapt that idea to each platform’s native format.

The idea doesn’t change. The packaging does.

Example: The idea “price your first ebook at ৳500” becomes:

  • A YouTube video (10 minutes, talking through the reasoning)
  • A blog article (written version with frameworks)
  • A Facebook post (the core insight + discussion question)
  • An email (personal story about my own pricing mistake)
  • A carousel (5 slides: the 5 pricing frameworks)

One idea. Five pieces of content. Maybe 3 hours of total work instead of 15.

My Weekly Workflow

Monday: The Core Idea (30 minutes)

I pick one idea for the week. It comes from:

  • Questions people ask me (YouTube comments, Facebook messages)
  • Something I learned at work that week
  • A topic from my content calendar

I write the idea as one paragraph — the core insight in plain language. If I can’t explain it in a paragraph, it’s not ready.

Example: “Most people price their first digital product based on effort. They should price based on the transformation the buyer gets. For Bangladesh, ৳500 is the sweet spot for a first ebook.”

That’s the seed. Everything grows from this.

Tuesday: The Video (90 minutes)

I record the YouTube video first because video is the richest format. Everything else gets extracted from it.

  • 10-15 minutes, talking naturally in Bangla
  • No script — just bullet points from my core idea paragraph
  • I expand with stories, examples, and frameworks as I talk

The video becomes the “master recording.” I don’t worry about perfection. I worry about clarity.

Wednesday: The Blog Article (60 minutes)

I don’t transcribe the video. I rewrite the idea as an article.

Why rewrite instead of transcribe? Because reading and watching are different experiences. Spoken Bangla has fillers, repetitions, and tangents that work on video but annoy readers.

The article structure:

  • Hook (the core insight, stated boldly)
  • H2 sections (each major point from the video)
  • Frameworks and lists (formatted for scanning)
  • Internal links to related articles

This takes about an hour because the thinking is already done. I’m just reformatting.

Thursday: Social Content (30 minutes)

From the same idea, I create:

Facebook post: The core insight as a standalone post (150-200 words) ending with a question. Example: “I priced my first ebook at ৳500. Most people told me it was too low. They were wrong. What’s stopping you from launching at a simple price?”

Carousel (5-7 slides): One framework or list from the article, visualized. Slide 1: hook. Slides 2-6: the points. Slide 7: CTA. I keep these simple — text on clean backgrounds.

Short video clip: 60 seconds from the YouTube video — the single best moment. For Reels, Shorts, and TikTok.

Friday: Email (20 minutes)

The email version is the most personal. I tell a story related to the idea — usually a mistake I made or something I observed.

“I almost priced my first product at ৳2,000 because I’d spent 3 months building it. Then a friend asked: ‘Would YOU pay ৳2,000 for this from someone you’d never heard of?’ That question changed everything…”

Same idea. Different angle. Personal tone. Ends with a link to the full article or product.

The Repurposing Map

Here’s the visual summary:

“`

ONE CORE IDEA (paragraph)

│

├── YouTube Video (expand with stories)

│ │

│ ├── Short clip (best 60 seconds)

│ └── Video description (link to article)

│

├── Blog Article (rewrite for readers)

│ │

│ └── SEO optimized (keywords, schema)

│

├── Facebook Post (core insight + question)

│

├── Carousel (framework as slides)

│

└── Email (personal story version)

“`

Total time: ~3.5 hours per week. Output: 6+ content pieces across 5 platforms.

Rules That Make This Work

1. Video first, always. Video captures your personality, stories, and energy. It’s harder to go from text to video than from video to text.

2. Don’t cross-post identically. A YouTube description pasted as a Facebook post feels lazy. Adapt the format, keep the idea.

3. Each platform gets a native CTA. YouTube: “subscribe.” Blog: “read related article.” Facebook: “comment your take.” Email: “reply to me.” Don’t use the same call-to-action everywhere.

4. Batch by format, not by idea. Some weeks I record 2-3 videos in one session, then write all the articles the next day. Batching by format is more efficient than completing one full cycle at a time.

5. Let platforms feed each other. Every YouTube video links to the blog article. Every blog article embeds the YouTube video. Every email links to both. This creates a web, not a funnel.

What This System Won't Do

It won’t make you go viral. Virality is luck. This system is about consistency and compounding — showing up every week with quality ideas, building a body of work that ranks, gets shared, and sells.

After a year of this system, you’ll have 50 videos, 50 articles, 200+ social posts, and 50 emails. That’s a content library that works for you 24/7. No single viral hit can match that.

Start This Week

Pick one idea you already understand well. Write the paragraph. Record the video. Then reshape it through the week.

Don’t aim for all five platforms on day one. Start with two (video + article). Add the others when the rhythm feels natural.

The goal isn’t to be everywhere. It’s to make your best ideas work as hard as you do.
